Karen was one of those people who earned my highest accolade: she was a nice person. When I occasioned a visit to the Guidance Office after retirement (both the retirement and the visit were purely voluntary), she always welcomed me back, as if she WANTED to see me--one of the few women to ever express that sentiment!
I shall think of her, and miss her even now.

Curtis,
Frank Weber sent me the Newsday online article. Karen was so beautiful in the photo, I haven't seen her for more than 30 years and it looks as though she didn't age a bit in all that time. After reading the article I realized she was just as beautiful on the inside. The Fishers are people who do for others and make the world a better place. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful sister.

(Because you've requested donations to pollinators instead of flowers, I will do just that.)

My beautiful friend Karen, you will be forever and ever and ever in my heart. When I see you again we will talk about our funny times with getting that big antique bench in your car, and sumo wrestling for charity, and dressing up like clowns for the student council parties The memories we shared are like none others. I have your burning bush in the garden In Vermont and my quilt that I take with me like a little baby. I have the memory of little peewee being lifted up by a spoon when he was born to put him back in his nest. Remember how you were screaming and by the end of that episode we were hysterical laughing and little peewee thought we were both crazy! I love you my dear friend. When I see you again in heaven we will play a round of golf… Only nine holes as you know! I love you forever. Robin
