Murphy, Joseph W. of Merrick, NY passed peacefully, surrounded by his dear family, on January 8, 2017. Dear husband of the late Anne (nee Meaney). Loving father of Patricia Taylor (The Late Jack), Dorothy Urick (Stephen), Anne Marie Radini (Dino), JoAnne Zehnder (Robert), Brian (Allyson), Edward, Eileen Hinrichs (Michael), Gregory (Joann). Nora Miller, Katie Murphy and the late Daniel. Beloved grandfather of 22 and the late grandson Brian Urick, great grandfather of 18. He was a lifelong Merrick resident and parishioner of Cure of Ars R.C. Church. He owned and operated the 'Murphy Maytag' appliance sales and service business in Merrick. Visiting at N.F. Walker, Inc. Funeral Home 2039 Merrick Ave. Merrick on Tuesday January 10 from 6-9pm and Wednesday the 11th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral mass will be held on the 12th of January 2017 at 11am at Cure of Ars R.C. Church 2323 Merrick Ave. Merrick NY 11566. Burial at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury NY. Donations in his name to Cure of Ars R.C. Church will be appreciated.
