Although my memories of Al were from my childhood they were of fun times. As a youngster he had to be called "Roy" for Roy Rogers whom he idolized. Oh, those 1950 cowboy pajamas I can still see them. I remember him as a kind quiet soul and fun to be around. It has been a lifetime since I have seen him, but always kept abreast of news of my "cousin" and his family.
May is family remember him with joy, and know he is with Our Lord.

On October 29, 2007, when I started my career at Canon, Al was the first person I had the pleasure to meet. We both started at Canon that same day, and sat next to each other. With Al starting here to manage PeopleSoft, and my PeopleSoft background at my previous job, we had much in common. 5 years later, when Canon moved to Melville, we were together again sitting next to each other. One of the nicest people I've ever gotten to know. There's no doubt that Al had such a deep affection three things...his family (first and foremost), the Mets, and the Islanders. He often spoke to me of taking his grandson to games and the great pleasure it gave him. Last year, I got the opportunity to work closer with Al when I was brought on board to join the Tririga support team.
I will always cherish the time I have spent with Al. He will never be forgotten. My deepest condolences to Mona and the rest of the Macias family.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Al. I am a co-worker of his and, though I didn't work with Al, I know he will be greatly missed by his Canon family. At this difficult time, may you find strength and comfort in each other and the cherished memories shared with Al. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
Marlene Storey

I had the privilege of working for Al for the last 7+ years at Canon USA. Al was a very amazing person. He possessed what seemed like endless energy. He enjoyed being with people and could converse on many topics and get along with any kind of person. He had a kind and compassionate heart for others and could enjoy a good laugh even when circumstances were not easy to laugh at. Al was very good-natured and you could discuss any topic with him and not come away upset even if you were on the other side of his opinion. Al was a forgiving person and could easily move on after you made a mistake or disappointed him in some way. I will deeply miss him as a boss, a colleague and a friend.

I have had the opportunity to work with Al for the last 7+ years at Canon. Regardless of what was going on - Al always had a friendly word and a big smile. Every time I saw him he lifted my spirits. We would often talk about baseball and his beloved Mets. He was a good man, my life was better for having known and interacted with him. I will miss him.
