Obituary of Joseph Codella

Joseph Codella, age 87, of Merrick died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at The Hospice Inn of Huntington, NY. Mr. Codella was born in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Nicholas and the late Nancy (Raso) Codella. He served in the Army during the Korean war from 1OCT50 to 2OCT52. He was employed by MTA City Of New York, working mostly out of Queens as a Supervisor. He is survived by his wife: Jeanne and two daughters and a son: Nancy Kalinoglu, Jeanne Gomez-Nieto, Joseph N. Codella; son in law, Cary Kalinoglu; son in law, Ricardo Gomez-Nieto, daughter in law Jennifer (nee Stewart); he also has nine grandchildren - granddaughter, Christina; granddaughter, Emily; grandson, Ricardo; granddaughter, Lauren; granddaughter, Paige; granddaughter, Jasmine; granddaughter, Renee; granddaughter, Marie; Grandson, James. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, October 26 at Church of the Intercessor, 50 St. Thomas Place, Malvern, NY with Archbishop Craig W. Bates officiating. A prayer service will be held 8:00 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at N. F. Walker, Inc., 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY. Burial will be in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton on Monday, October 26 at 1:00 pm. Calling hours will be Sunday, October 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at N. F. Walker, Inc., 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY.
