My beloved, dear, Grandma Luz passed and is now forever reunited with her love, our cherished Grandpa Anselmo. To have known my Grandma was to love her. Her loving but feisty and fun personality could light up a room and hold everyone's attention. She made us laugh, and cry, because we were laughing so hard.
She was Grandma to us all, and never forgot a face. She loved people and made all of our friends etc feel welcome and at home with her...just like family. She always wanted you to hug her and sit right next to her. She called EVERYONE honey!
She loved her family and lived for us all everyday. She taught us that family is the most important thing and to always stick by one another. She loved EVERYTHING and thought ANYTHING any of her grandchildren did was BEAUTIFUL! She was always proud of us and had high hopes for us all. She thought the world of us and bragged about us to everyone, always...she use to always tell me I could be a greater actress than Shirley Temple if only my dad would have put me in the movies :)
She made the best black beans and white rice and use to hold food competitions amongst me and my cousins to see who could clear their plate the fastest. I hands down always won. She always told me, I like your thighs, they are thick. I guess it's from all the black beans.
I could go on and on and on because the way she lit up our lives will live on forever in all of our hearts and we will never forget all the joy that you brought to us.
How LUCKY I am to have had YOU as my Grandma and how lucky this world is to have had you for the past 91 years.
Cheers to you and Grandpa finally together again ♥

Dearest Mommy,Our matriarch,a little woman with a large heart, who sacrificed so much to ensure that my sister and I had a better life than hers and that we would be educated.Yet,you always reminded me that I should work to live and never live to work. You always put us first and had boundless love for each of your five grandchildren. You inspired me and entertained me so often with stories of your beloved Puerto Rico, and your recitation of poetry, learned generations ago, along with your native songs. You are now with our beloved Papi, and some day we will all be reunited singing and laughing once again! Your loving son.

My Dearest Titi Luz, I will miss you all the days of my life. I love you, always have, always will. My heart breaks to know that you are gone, and yet it is also filled with loving memories of you in my life. You lived a long and beautiful life, and you are loved by generations of family and friends. You left a beautiful legacy in your wake of what it means to love and be loved and what family is all about. I know your life wasn't always easy, yet you lived it to it's fullest and brought us all strength and most importantly lots and lots of love. May you rest in everlasting peace with those whom you loved and went before you.. and may we meet again. I love you. Lilliana

Luz was my great aunt, who I often referred to as my grandma because she always loved me like I was one of her own. I will never forget her and all the wonderful memories we shared from her passion of Ricky Martin to her amazing amazing food. Her legacy will continue to live on through all her family for all the years to come. May she rest in peace in her husbands arms in heaven and watch over us forever. We love you. XOXO <3

My first memory Luz was visiting NY for the first time in 2007. Lizet and I went to visit Her and Anselmo. She was so excited to see Ricky Martin preform live. It's all she talked about. It was so cute. Then Anselmo preformed a bunch of songs for us on his piano. It's a memor I will never forget.
