Obituary of Blanca I Rodriguez
Please share a memory of Blanca to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Blanca I. Rodriguez, lovingly known as Blanci and Iris, on October 20, 2024. She was a cherished mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Felipe Torres, with whom she shared over 50 wonderful years, Blanca leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched everyone she met.
Born in Puerto Rico as one of seven siblings, Blanca met Felipe in Brooklyn, where their beautiful journey together began. As a young woman in New York City, she worked as a seamstress, where she developed a love for fashion that she passed on to her daughters. Her talent was evident in the beautiful dresses she lovingly crafted for her daughters and grandchildren.
Blanca lived for the simple joys in life. An amazing cook, she brought everyone together around her table. She loved crocheting, puzzles, arts and crafts, shopping, jewelry, and most importantly, spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Her warmth and laughter always filled our homes with joy.
She is survived by ten grandchildren: Denisse, Avery, Chloe, Evan, Kirsten, Blair, Sigourney, Shea, and Yalitza. Her first granddaughter, Michelle, is dearly missed.
Blanca taught us many lessons; the greatest was to love unconditionally. She was a strong yet selfless woman who left an indelible mark wherever she went. Though we feel lost without her presence, we find comfort knowing that heaven has gained a precious angel who will watch over us.
As she joins her husband Felipe and first granddaughter Michelle in heaven, we will miss her dearly and remember her always until we meet again. Her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
