Yesterday, we lost one of the kindest, most beautiful people in all of Merrick. He was a doctor who took care of his patients like no other doctor. My dad, Ed Natoli, went to college with him many years ago. He was also my doctor when I was young. Dr. Caso was one of a kind and he will be truly missed. My love goes out to his wonderful family.
With our deepest sympathy,
Chris and Dom Amatulli and family

Not only did Dr. Caso take care of me as a child and young adult, he took care of our whole family and then later, inspired me to become a nurse and to mentor me as a new nurse in me first job at Mercy Hospital. He treated me for bee stings and poison ivy when I was little, gave me shots to study abroad in India when I was a college student and spoke to me as an equal in my first days of being responsible for patients myself as an RN. He was gentle, knowledgable, dedicated and caring. I will never forget him.

Rest in peace Dr. Caso. Will always be grateful for his having provided my family (The Rice Family) with personal care. I still remember those house calls from the 60's and his black bag.

Dr Caso was our family doctor, a close friend of the Merrick Fire Dept and an institution in Merrick. We lived down the block from his sisters for many years. We continued to see his daughter Gina after he retired until we relocated out of state. Our condolences go out to his family. He will certainly be missed.

I was truly sadden to hear of Dr. Caso's passing. He was such a great doctor and person. He delivered me and I continued to see him throughout my life until he retired at which time I started to see Gina. His son Jeff was my dentist also until I moved away and he is just like his dad in so many ways. Dr. George will be missed. Go with God and rest in peace.

I remember waiting in the office with all his childrens pictures painted on the walls. Then his sister would come out and peak into the room to see if anyone new had entered and take down their name.
Dr. Caso had such a calm and gentle way when speaking to you and examining. He was the last person I saw when my tonsils were taken out and first to see when I woke up. He always did rounds so early at the hospitals.
He was my doctor until he retired and then Gina picked up where he left off. Another gentle and special person.
And Jeff is our family dentist. They both have their Dad's calm quality. God Bless Your Dad and sincere sympathies are sent to your family at this difficult time.

I absolutely adored Dr. Caso. His office was down the street from my house and I am told he came out in snow shoes during a severe blizzard to treat me when I was a baby. He was my doctor until I moved away from Merrick and I think we all remember his kind, gentle manner and Norman Rockwellesque office. Visiting his office was almost like visiting another time. He was like an old friend, not just a doctor. My condolences to his children, who were lucky to have a wonderful, respected father. I will always remember him fondly, for always taking good care of me :-). Rest peacefully, Dr. Caso.

Dr. George was a fine man and a fine physician and when he retired all those years ago, Merrick lost a strong connection to the way medicine should be practiced. Now, it has lost a true pillar of the community. Eighty seven is a ripe old age. But it's still too young for a man this good.
What a shame. What a terrible loss.
