My wife Alice & I new Ernest as Ern since we moved into our house 3 doors down the block from Ern & Connie in the spring of 1967. Connie & Alice became very good friends through the years sharing many shopping trips together. Alice & I would often cross paths with Ern & Connie at the local Shoprite supermarket. After Connie & Alice could no longer do the shopping because of their failing health, I would occasionally cross paths with Ern at Shoprite. He always had a smile on his face & a positive outlook even though he himself had physical ailments in his later years.
I also recall he loved the cars he owned. One of his favorites was a black Mercury. He was very fond of that car. He did enjoy driving to Atlantic City in New Jersey to try his luck at the casino.
Ern enjoyed a long life & the love of his wife & children. He surely will be missed by his children, Ernie, Kim & Eric as well as by all of us & who had the pleasure of knowing him.
May his children be comforted & may Ern rest in peace & now be rejoined in the company of all those he loved who have gone before him.
Friend & neighbor

Our family was luck enough to move in across the street on 10/31/1975. The Nurge's quickly became part of our family. Ernie and Connie were like grandparents to my boys and were very patient during the teenage years. Ioved away in 2009 but continued to keep in touch. Love you Ernie. You were one of the best people I knew.
Love, Joanne ❤️

Dear Ernie, Eric, Kim and family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss. It was truly a blessing and privilege to have Ernest, known to me as “Uncle Ernie” and his wonderful wife Connie as my Godparents.
I always appreciated his kindness and enjoyed his quick wit and sensor of humor. Uncle Ernie always knew how to make you laugh! Though he is no longer here with us, the many memories of him and Aunt Connie are forever embedded in our hearts.
Rest in peace Uncle Ernie. We love you and will miss you.

I am so sorry to hear about your father’s passing, Eric. I had never met him but after reading his obituary, I wish I had. What a fascinating life he lived, I would have enjoyed all of his stories. He seemed like such a captivating man! I am sending you and the rest of the family my sympathy and blessings.
