Obituary of George Joseph Fedorisko

George Joseph Fedorisko, age 79, of Ridge, New York and Oro Valley, AZ, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Port Jefferson, NY. 

Visitation will be held at N.F. Walker Funeral Home in Merrick, NY on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 12 - 4 pm.

George was born in Brooklyn, NY to George and Margaret Fedorisko on March 30, 1944. He graduated from Richmond Hill High School in 1961 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Science from St. John’s University. George worked as a science teacher for the Bellmore-Merrick School District for over 30 years, primarily at Merrick Avenue Junior High School and Jerusalem Avenue Junior High School. In his spare time, George was an avid gardener and hiker. He enjoyed spending time at his other home in Oro Valley, Arizona. 

George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Leslie Fedorisko, of Ridge, NY; his son Donald Fedorisko of Jackson Heights, NY, and his daughters Christine Fedorisko of Bethesda, MD and Elizabeth (Erik) Schmid of St. James, NY; his grandchildren Timothy Schmid and Eleanor Schmid of St. James, NY. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Fedorisko, his sister, Genevieve Fedorisko, and his parents George and Margaret Fedorisko.
