Kathy Was Always A Willing Participant In Adventure. I Was In A Pilgrimage For Quite A Number Of Years, When I Found Myself At A Hostel In Brooklyn, NY. All My Siblings Came To Visit, But Kathy Didn’t Just Visit, She Jumped Into My Pilgrimage
The Mission Was To Find Our Deceased Grandmother’s Church, No One Knew It’s Name. So The Pilgrimage Led Us To Where Our Grandmother, Mary Ellen Ethel Basha Had Lived, At 2873 Atlantic Ave, In A 4 Story Walk Up
Our Nana Was A 3rd Order Franciscan Nun And She Didn’t Drive, (As Was The Time Period), And So She Would Have Walked To Church
We Arrived At 2873 Atlantic Ave. I Stood
I Stood At My Nana’s Door, Then As God Instructs Us, I Did An About Face From Her Door And Pointed At The Cross In The Sky. Look Kathy, That’s Nana’s Church, And Away We Went.
At St Michael’s, RC Church, A Priest Was Rolling Black Iron Wrought Gates, Welcoming Us. I Said Look The Father Is Waving And Opening The Gates, C’mon Kathy Let’s Go!
Kathy Said No, My Feet Are Too Bad And That She Couldn’t Walk, But That It’s Ok, She Would Stay In The Car. I Said Okay, I Will Pray For Both Of Us.
I Went In, And Sat In The Front Right Pew, Pondering That My Nana Sat And Knelt Here. The Door Opened, And There Was Kathy, Walking Up The Aisle, And She Knelt Down Next To Me. She Was Under God’s Control.
I Looked At Her Head Bent In Prayer, And Couldn’t Resist Putting My Two Hands Upon Her Heard And The Love There, Was Incredible, And Her Dark Hair Seemed Light
Then I Said, I Have To Go Look Behind That Podium, There’s Something For Me To See There, Would You Like To Come? Kathy Said No, And Stayed Praying, While I Went To See, What Is There?
It Was A Crypt, That Said St Francis, And My Heart Cried Out With Joy. Of Course, At Least Part Of St Francis Belonged Here, With The Third Order Of Franciscans. I Knelt Back Near My Sister, And We Talked Excitedly Of The Findings.
God Must Love My Sister Kathy Very Much, For Following This Day, She Had A Renewal Of Good Health, And Medicines She’d Been On Were Greatly Diminished. My Sister Would Call And Tell Me As She Progressed, And She Was So Happy. She Did Works With Her Beloved Sisters Of St Joseph, And She Loved Visiting The Homebound, Of Her Sacred Heart Parish. Her Favorite Priest, Father Peter Would Say, Regardless Of Health, Without Hesitation, Kathy Would Pick-Up And Go To Someone’s House If They Needed Help. “I Will Be Right There!”
Still We Were As Kids, And She Called To Say She Was Sending Me A Christmas Gift From The Parish. She Was So Excited. It Came, And It Was Mother Mary And Jesus Card Holder, (See Photo).
My Sister Kathy Worked For God, And When That Happens, There Is Continued Work For You In The Heavens, Particularly In The Lord’s Last Supper Room, (2), And That Is Where A Sea Of Pope’s Welcomed Warmly, My Sister Kathleen Mary Madeline, Home.
