Obituary of Margaret Mary Schroder

Margaret Williams Schroder, 82 of Merrick, New York passed away on September 29, 2022 on the Feast Day of the Archangels. Visitation will be held at N. F. Walker Funeral home, 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick, NY on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Cure of Ars Church on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735. Margaret was born in Brooklyn to Edward and Agnes Williams on August 19, 1940. She was the oldest of five children. She went to Catherine McAuley High School and graduated in 1958. Margaret went on to attend St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn, NY in 1962 and earned a degree in early childhood education and a Master's degree from Hunter College in literacy. She was a beloved Kindergarten teacher at Sacred Heart School in Merrick, NY for over 20 years. Margaret was also a valued catechist at Cure of Ars for over 30 years. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, walking, baking, caring for others and sharing her faith. Margaret is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert, and four daughters Kathleen Nemeth (Michael), Christine Nichols (Kyle), Eileen Kenney (James), Elizabeth Giordano (Stephen) and 10 grandchildren: Matthew Nemeth, Sophia Nemeth, Rachel Nemeth, Luke Kenney, Noah Kenney, Devin Nichols, Dylan Nichols, Nicholas Giordano, Christian Giordano and Jack Giordano.
